Spectus Window Systems has launched a triple glazing marketing campaign for fabricators and installers across the UK. As one of the lowest cost triple glazing solutions currently on the market, the Spectus solution uses Argon rather than expensive Krypton to deliver 0.8W/(m².K) whole window U-values, and the campaign focuses on these key selling points. The marketing initiative provides a suite of literature and information for fabricators to pass on to installers, which can be used to help promote their own businesses and help boost sales in the current tough economic times. Joanna Plane, marketing manager at Spectus, says: “The marketing campaign will allow installers to go out into their territories and increase awareness of triple glazing, leading to increased enquiries and sales. We are distributing packs to all our fabricators which include important information about triple glazing, technical guides, sales aids, template press releases for the local newspapers and posters. Installers simply need to ask their Spectus fabricator for more information.” The triple glazing marketing campaign comes ahead of further revisions to the Approved Document L (ADL), expected in both 2013 and 2016, which will see the introduction of a ‘zero carbon’ policy for new homes. This means a building’s CO2 emissions will need to be reduced to zero or offset in some way, providing a challenge for housebuilders. From 2019 the ADL regulations will apply to all commercial new builds and at some point it is widely believed that existing buildings will need to be refurbished to improve their energy efficiency too: triple glazing will be one of the measures most likely to be adopted. Spectus provides two aesthetically pleasing triple glazed beads, one chamfered and one ovolo. The beads are stocked in standard finishes and also available in the Spectrum range of over 60 different foils. In addition, many variations of glass coatings, spacer bars, edge sealants and gas fills can be used to provide bespoke options to balance cost and performance. Fabricator packs are being distributed throughout August.
