The graceful style of sash windows is difficult to beat. But timber sashes, particularly old ones, are troublesome and require regular maintenance. The Spectus Vertical Sliding Sash window has been designed to provide the authentic, period appearance without the drawbacks. It’s so good that planning departments have accepted it – even in conservation areas.

When we designed our Vertical Slider, we kept the basics: the elegant proportions and the two sliding panes that are so effective for ventilation. After that, we worked on improvements.

There are optional Georgian bars and sash horns to match original designs and a consistent period look with ovolo detailing to the frame, sash, beads and cills. As well as that, there’s a new, ultra-slim meeting rail option that takes traditional aesthetics to the next level.  These are beautiful, sliding-sash windows that are easy to maintain, insulating and secure. What’s more, they can achieve a Band ‘A+’ Window Energy Rating. Grace and elegance are now combined with performance and all the benefits of 21^st century materials and technology.
